Happy at work …
I have had a studio space at Potager Garden (www.potagergarden.org) for more years than I care to remember (about 18…) and I feel I might be established there now.
This is where the making, planning, testing, experimenting, tea-drinking and laughing happens.
It is also where the serious metalwork and creation takes place. I teach, learn from my students, take on commissions as well as extend my own practice through making.
Working with materials such as copper, gilding metal & pewter, trying new techniques and patinas while perfecting old ones is what keeps me inspired and motivated. I make bowls, boxes and vessels of many shapes and sizes. The concept of ‘containment’, domestic, ornamental or ceremonial has endless fascination for me.
